Alpicool Fridge
The Alpicool Fridge type connects to an Alpicool or Brass Monkey 12 V compressor fridge over Bluetooth and gives you one dashboard card showing what the fridge is doing.
Other brands sold with the CAR FRIDGE FREEZER phone app use the same protocol and work with this type too.
The Fridge card
The Fridge card shows:
- Fridge — the current temperature of the fridge compartment, in °C.
- Freezer — the current temperature of the freezer compartment, on dual-zone models only. A single-zone fridge shows one temperature across the whole card instead.
- A dot and a label at the top right: Cooling while the compressor is running, Off when the fridge is switched off at the unit.
- The supply voltage at the bottom left — the battery voltage the fridge itself measures, which is what its battery-protection cut-out watches.
Changing the temperature
Under each compartment is a − and + pair with that compartment's target temperature between them. Each tap moves the target by one degree straight away, so you can hold down + or − and run the number up or down without waiting. The fridge is sent the final figure once you stop tapping. Whole degrees only — that is all the fridge stores.
If the fridge does not accept the change — it is out of range, or switched off at the unit — the number goes back to what the fridge actually reads after a few seconds.
The fridge decides what it will accept: if you ask for a temperature outside its own range, it is clamped to the nearest value the fridge allows. On a two- compartment fridge the fridge compartment must stay warmer than the freezer.
If your fridge is set to display Fahrenheit, the card still shows and sets °C — the conversion happens on the way to the fridge.
Eco and Max
The Eco/Max button at the bottom switches how hard the compressor works. Max cools as fast as it can; Eco runs the compressor gently, using less battery but taking longer to pull the temperature down and holding it less tightly.
Turning the fridge on and off
The On/Off button at the bottom right switches the whole fridge off, both compartments together — the same as the power button on the fridge itself. Switching individual compartments is not on the card.
While the fridge is off it still reports its temperatures, and they climb toward the cabin temperature. The dot at the top right reads Off.
The child lock and the battery-protection level are not on the card — change those on the fridge itself or in its phone app, and the card follows along within about ten seconds.
Adding the fridge
- Close the fridge's phone app. The fridge accepts one connection at a time, and the app holds it.
- On the Devices page, tap Scan and look under Discovered nearby. Alpicool fridges advertise names like A1-4E2C, AK2-…, WT-… or K25….
- Tap Add, then Restart to apply.
If the fridge does not appear, it is out of range or still connected to the phone app.
Problems?
- The card shows -- for every value → the fridge is out of range, switched off at the unit, or the phone app is holding the connection. Close the app and wait about a minute.
- The Freezer temperature never appears → single-zone fridges have no freezer compartment and never report one. This is normal.
- Temperatures update but stop after a while → see A device stopped updating.
- The fridge never shows up when scanning → see A device isn't discovered.
