KL Shunt

The KL Shunt type covers the common KL-series Bluetooth battery shunts (the ones whose Bluetooth name starts with "BTG" or "BTH"). The panel connects to the shunt and shows battery percentage (SOC), voltage, and current on a dashboard card. Read-only — there is nothing to control.

Adding one

Add it from Discovered nearby on the Devices page, or manually with Add device → KL Shunt and the shunt's MAC address (Scan finds it). No key or password is needed.

Some units of this family advertise under other names and won't be auto-recognised — if yours doesn't appear in Discovered nearby, add it manually by MAC.

Current direction

Whether current reads positive or negative depends on which way round the clamp is fitted and which side of the battery it sits on. If yours shows charging as a negative number (and discharging as positive), open the device from the Devices page and set Current direction to Reversed — the reading flips straight away and the setting is remembered.

This device uses a Bluetooth connection, so it counts against the Bluetooth connection limit.
