Alerts
Alert rules watch a reading and fire when it crosses a threshold. Rules are stored and evaluated on the panel itself, so the same rule drives the alert chip in the web app's status bar and the push notification your phone gets (once the van is linked to the Remote Dashboard).
Manage rules in the web app under Settings → Alerts. Alert editing is not available on the panel's own touchscreen — use the web app or the Remote Dashboard. Up to 8 rules can exist; a fresh panel comes with one starter rule (tank 1 below 20 %) that you can edit or delete.
Creating a rule
Tap Add rule and fill in:
- Reading — pick any numeric reading, listed as "device — metric" (for example "Fresh water — level"). Only numeric readings can have alerts.
- Fires when — below or above.
- Trip value — the threshold that arms the alert.
- Severity — info, warning, or critical. Controls the colour of the alert chip and the urgency of the notification.
- Hold for (s) — how long the reading must stay past the trip value before the alert actually fires (default 60 s). Filters out brief spikes, and is what stops a reading hovering right at the threshold from alerting you repeatedly.
- Title — optional; left blank, the rule names itself from the device ("Fresh water low").
Rules apply the moment you save them — no restart needed.
While a rule is firing
The rule's row shows a Firing badge, and a chip with the rule's title appears in the top status bar on every page (the first two firing alerts show as chips, more collapse into a +N chip). If the van is linked to the Remote Dashboard, one push notification is sent to your phone when the rule starts firing — there are no reminders while it keeps firing, and nothing is sent when the reading recovers. The chip and the rule's row are where you see that it cleared.
Pausing or removing a rule
Each rule row has a toggle to disable it without deleting it, an Edit button, and a delete button. All three act immediately.
If the Alerts tab says it can't reach the panel's rules
Alert rules can only be edited on a connection that reaches the panel directly — the panel's own screen, the web app served from the panel, or the Remote Dashboard. Open one of those and try again.
