OBD-II vehicle adapter
The OBD-II type reads the vehicle itself through a Bluetooth OBD2 dongle plugged into the vehicle's diagnostic port — Vgate vLinker, Veepeak, and most ELM327-style Bluetooth LE dongles work. The card shows two dials — Speed and Engine RPM — plus Coolant temperature and the vehicle's battery Voltage. Read-only.
Most readings only exist while the ignition is on; with the engine off the card sits at "Off".
Adding one
Plug the dongle into the OBD port, then add it from Discovered nearby or manually by MAC (Add device → OBD-II). It uses a Bluetooth connection (connection limit).
These dongles require Bluetooth pairing; the panel answers with the standard PIN 1234 automatically. A dongle configured with a different PIN will not pair — reset it to the default with the vendor's app.
Problems?
- Never connects → check no phone app is paired to the dongle, and that its PIN is the default 1234.
- Values blank with the engine running → some vehicles don't expose every reading; speed/RPM are the most universally available.
